Doyle Brunson was born on August 10, 1933 in Longworth, Texas and also known as 'Texas Dolly'. He is an American poker player who has played professionally for over 40 years. He is become world champion of poker several times and is also the author of different poker books. That's the reason why he is often called the Godfather of Poker.
His pokerbook 'SuperSystem' is one of the best pokerbooks available on the market and is being called 'The Poker Bible'. Brunson was the first player to earn $1 million in poker tournaments and won 10 World Series of Poker bracelets throughout his career, tied with Johnny Chan and Phil Helmuth for the record. Texas Dolly is also one of only four players to have won consecutive main events at the World Series of Poker, he won the main event in 1976 and in 1977!
