Michael Mizrachi was born on January 5th, 1981. His nickname is 'The Grinder'. A grinder is typically thought to be a player who struggles to grind it out and win enough to keep his head above water. Besides poker, Michael likes to play chess, football, movies, and also golf. Michael grew up in Miami Beach (Florida) and Michael's brother was already playing poker online. He was following the leads of his brother Robert and start playing online poker. He was playing Limit Holdem at various online gaming sites, like PokerStars and Paradise Poker, with limits of $30-$60 and eventually $100-$200.
In 2004, Michael Mizrachi took a trip to Las Vegas to participate in the 2004 World Series of Poker. After placing 11th in the $1,500 No Limit Hold 'Em tournament and being dissatisfied with anything other than first place, he entered a $500 tournament weekly game at the Bellagio. Winning that tournament assured him that he was in the right line of work and on the way to bigger, better things. The next year Michael 'grinds' to the final table in back-to-back World Poker Tour events. At the 2005 World Poker Open, Michael finished in 5th place and a couple days later he won the 2005 LA Poker Classic!
Michael resides in Florida with his wife Aidiliy, his son Paul William and his daughter Julie Malka. Although he resides in Florida, he spends a lot of his time traveling all over the world playing tournaments.
